A New Semi-Auto Work Horse Shotgun Using an Inertia System From CZ-USA
The CZ-USA 1012 is the newest evolution in the CZ shotgun lineup. The 1012 features a new semi automatic gas-less inertia operating system. Instead of a typical gas operated model that works by redirect gas from the barrel to run the action the 1012 has a spring (housed in the bolt) to store the energy during the recoil operation. Next the spring will utilize the stored energy just a second later in order to rotate and unlock the bolt lugs from the barrel and ultimately leading to extraction and ejection of the spent shell hull.
Additionally the inertia system doesn’t require as strict of a maintenance schedule like gas guns. During CZ’s testing of the 1012 they were able to run 5000 rounds without oil and cleaning. During that test the gun performed flawlessly with zero broken parts and zero malfunctions. So during normal field use with cleaning and oiling you can rest assured that your 1012 will perform.
Moreover this shotgun was tested with light recoiling 2-3/4″ target loads all the way up to heavy 3″ magnums and the performance was exceptional. The 1012 was able to cycle and run the vast majority of shotshells on the market with the exception of Winchester Featherlite (23/25 oz at 980 fps) on the light side and Remington HyperSonic (1 1/4 oz at 1700 fps) on the heavy side.
